I'm a little concerned that this may be a little too broad a topic. There are a lot of ways you could research and discuss technology and writing. Most conversations about technology address how it changes what writing is and how it is produced, distributed, and consumed/used. In other words, in writing studies, few people are concerned with whether the changes technology brings to writing are good or bad for writing abilities, rather they look at how technological change changes what writing abilities there are, and which are important for successful writing. To make such a subject manageable, you would probably want to look at one type of technology and look at how it changes writing, what it requires that writers know, how it works to negotiate social relationships, and its importance in modern literate culture.
